This season will feature only one weight class, the lightweights (145-155 lb), and the fighters will be divided into two teams, coached by former UFC Lightweight Champion Jens Pulver, and former UFC Welterweight Champion and lightweight contender B.J. Penn. The two coaches, along with the finalists of the tournament, will fight at The Ultimate Finale, a televised MMA fight card that will air live at the completion of the series.

The series will premiere April 5, 2007 on Spike TV in the United States and Canada at 10:00pm ET/PT. Filming will begin in mid-January 2007.[1] The season will conclude on June 23.[2] The Coaches, Jens Pulver and BJ Penn, will face each other in a lightweight bout in the main event of the season finale.

the Coaches are
Jens Pulver, Team Pulver coach
B.J. Penn, Team Penn coach

And the Fighters are
Nathan Diaz, Matt Wiman, Joe Lauzon, Robert Emerson, Gray Maynard, Noah Thomas, Corey Hill, Marlon Sims, Cole Miller, Gabe Ruediger, Brian Geraghty, Brandon Melendez, Andy Wang, Alan Berubie, Manvel Gambaryan, and Wayne Weems

" I hope Robert Emerson wins. He will be one of the funniest to watch and has already fought Melvin Gullard where Melvin cried and told him to STOP during the figh when Robetr was beating him. Dumb Robert thought the ref stopped it too thinking it was a verbal tap out but the ref never stopped it and he eneded up loosing a split decission where the crowd boooos were aggressive. He also took TUF coach Jens Pulver to a decission!
