Kendall Grove Looking for a Big Win!

Kendall Grove

CBS Sports reports - Kendall Grove is gearing up for the biggest fight of his life. The winner of the Ultimate Fighter 3 middleweight division has had his share of challenges in the fight world, but on Aug. 25 he takes on battle tested 5-time UFC veteran Patrick Cote.

Grove, a lanky 6-foot-6 middleweight, is looking to use his reach, jiu-jitsu skills and endless fortitude to prevail over the French Canadian at UFC 74.

The 24-year-old rising star speaks about his upcoming bout.

Q: How has training been going?

A: Going great, training at Xtreme Couture and Cobra Kai Jiu-Jitsu. So it’s coming along and training with some great guys, and just can’t wait to fight.

Q: Is this time first time you’ve worked at Xtreme Couture?

A: No, I was training at Xtreme Couture for Alan Belcher, pretty much since December.

Q: What’s it like training there?

A: Every day is a learning experience and every day you get your ass kicked. There are great guys there and I love going in there every day.

Q: Who are your main training partners?

A: You could say the who’s who of the UFC. I spar with Randy Couture and Forrest Griffin. I train with him every day. Tyson Griffin, Gray Maynard, Mike Pyle, Jay Hieron, Troy Mandaloniz, Frank Trigg. So I’m training with a lot of legends, a lot of up and comers and a lot of stars.

Q: What are your thoughts on Patrick Cote?

A: I think he’s a great opponent. I love watching the guy fight. I watched him fight Tito and break onto the scene, and he’s doing his thing. He’s had some bad luck in the past and I think now that he’s had his first win in the UFC we’re going to see the best Patrick Cote. Too bad he has to fight me.
