Ed Herman vs. Scott Smith @ UFC 72

Ed Herman

The Ultimate Fighter alumni Ed "Short Fuse" Herman and Scott "Hands of Stone" Smith will face off in a UFC 72 matchup, the company announced today on its website.

The 185-pounders will fight on the undercard of the UFC’s first foray into Ireland on June 16. The main event of that card is former middleweight champion Rich Franklin taking on rising contender Martin Kampmann.

Smith comes in with a 13-3 record and is coming off a decision loss to Patrick Cote at UFC 67, while Herman (14-4 overall), has lost two of his last three matches, including a decision loss to Kendall Grove at the TUF 3 Finale, and a submission to Jason MacDonald in October 2006. He last stepped foot into the octagon in January, when he finished Chris Price via arbmar submission.

    Herman is going to sleep

  • ! SHAWN !

?How many chances? Going to sleep?…. BULLSHIT! Ed deserved to win that B/S decision w/kendal - if not - then why did Dana give him the contract? McDonald was a sleeper, could of happened to anybody..+that was a tight armbar setup his last time out. If Ed does what I know he can do, look for Smith to get taken down, pounded out….scott has a punchers chance, (AT BEST)!!!! UFC fans are yet to see what SHORTFUSE is realy capable of!!!!
